Lucky and I Together again

Today was for the most a good day. Chances are improving for finding work in the area. I took Lucky out for a medium walk to the park and then gave him a long bath/shower and then we dried off in the Sun. The pics are from the drying period and One for fun of my Mom.

Lucky also has a companion in the house my sister Dee's dog Aries.

They looked cute watching me form the back porch.

After a few timing snags Lucky made it to Va. My sister Chauncia drove me to meet Steven and his Rideshare Lucky at Dulles Airport at the rentals return area. The cost $60 to have my Lucky transported down for me to feel that some semblance of my normal life was still going to happen in the present and future. He is here and I am happy.

These are pics of Lucky in the backseat of my sister Chauncia's car on our way to my middle sister Davina's home were we are staying for the near future.

Lucky coming to Va.

Later this morning a fellow dog lover by the name of Steven, will be traveling from Long Island, New York to Upperville, Va. He will be stopping by Boerum Hill, Brooklyn to pick up my beloved friend and companion Lucky. I should meet up with them and have my face licked at around 2pm later today in Fairfax near the intersection of 66 and route 50 west.

When I had to vacate my apartment knowing that the marshalls were on the way. I had a few hours ahead that morning to prepare. I took Lucky for a nice walk through St. Nicholas Park up to w.132nd street and back down St. Nick Ave to our place. I then packed a few belongings into a backpack and a few more in another for him and strolled out the door for the last time as a tenant of 6 St. Nicholas Terrace. With as much dignity as possible I boarded the A train to Brooklyn and walked him over to my pal's home.

Paul Michael was already out and about and I caught sight of him near Nevins and Bergen.

He had not wanted to take Lucky. He was in the midst of his own troubles, had a nasty fall in a puddle of glittery K-Y jelly in Target that had aggravated his ever present bad back. I had once before under similar circumstances tested the abilities of his helping me by moving in with him temporarily for what turned out to be 6 months with Lucky and my new lover Dennis. So I apologized for turning up again and Paul Michael again came through for me. He agreed to take Lucky.

I have seen him twice since then for brief visits and "spoken" to him a few times over the phone.

I stopped this a few weeks ago when I wondered how silly it must be, if it even helped Lucky in any way and I realized it also left me upset and feeling as if I were abandoning my responsibilities.

All this aside, after close to 6 weeks I will finally be reunited with my Dog.

Lucky is oddly and happily one of the longest relationships of my life. And the longest of my adult life. The longest I lived in anyone place or same persons as a child to High School was from birth to the summer of my 6th year with my parents and great grandparents in Fryetown and from fall of 5th grade at age 10 until the middle of 10th grade at 15 with my Mom, Step-father and 2 of three sisters. Chauncia had wisened up and escaped 2 years earlier. So Lucky (who my former lover Simon found in the spring of 2001) is at 8 years, my longest relationship in Life.

He is my Life partner even thus far. I can not think of how many ways my life has changed with him in it.

All positive I feel. I look forward to seeing his face and tail as he leaves the car and may lie on the ground and let him jump on my and lick me in the face. Looking forward to the sight of him. My Friend.

We have been through a lot together and have more hurdles ahead. He has a new home to adjust to. I have to find a job and a new place for us to live and then find more permanent digs for us both for a while and sort out my life. But, I feel better being able to see him and walk him again and hear high sigh when he puts his head on my lap. He's the love of my life.

Last week Lucky, Scott and I spent the week in Genese county, NY visiting friends in Wellsville and Hornell, NY. We drove 5.5 hours west from Kingston to Hornell and stayed at the lovely econo-lodge.

Lucky's Day at the VET

You may have notice a small shaved area on Lucky over the past few postings.

A few Weeks ago Lucky had a small spat with a tiny dog at the Run who bite him in the mid hind quarters. I thought little of it, cleaned the wound with Peroxide and forgot about it. A few weeks later I noticed what appeared to be a zit growing there and within a week it had turned ugly and was oozing. I took him to Westside Veterinary Center and discovered he had received a bacterial infection form the little muffin that bit him and needed a course of anti-biotics to stop the infection.

At first this seemed to work but a week later the pimple reappeared and back to the vet we went for surgery to remove the festering blister. He now seems better and is on pain killers and anti-biotics. He hate the cone collar attachment and stares at me as if he is being punished for no good reason. All seems to be going fine and I take him back in 2 weeks for a follow up and stich removal.

BEWARE of ANTI-SOCIAL Miniature Dogs.

I have no bias against them, but have noticed over the past 8 years that the owners seem to think that the smaller the dog the less damage it can do. And seem not to train them to be social.

Let's just say I'm almost happy to be in retirement , for a spell at least. I'm stuck here still in Slymar, California at this retirement camp for aged entertainers like me. And the Make-up and broken mirrors, fixing the spat with Liz after she found him in her closet trying on wigs - Screaming " White Diamonds, White Diamonds". And Lisa Marie, look I told her " Dig if you want, there's no oil coming out of his well"!

Weeks of my life just to get him to stop making those damn mouth noises he calls music. Scat? I know about scat and he is full of it. Oh and the skin creams. I woke up one night to find him hovering over me in a peek-a-boo nightie telling me "you can be beautiful too". I wet myself just getting away.

That one knows not to mess with me, the things I could have told, at the trial I played mute. You know the routine. And I know where the bodies are buried. I dug a few graves myself. I told him knock it off with the little ones, just take a vacation to Cuba or Thailand like a normal freak, Did he listen? Now look at him, a damn Flakey Crust, Beige Bitch in a Burka!

And the kids, Blanket got his name cuz I told him to hide under the blanket when they did room check at night before lock down. M heard it and thought it was a cute name. I got a few cute names for him: Mary Jack-off, Ambi-Jones (he actually thought he should have been the spokesmodel) and my favorite Spots. We did have our good times, but I had to show my teeth on more than one occasion. You know how it is, like you owe them a favor always.

Did you get the treats I sent you? They do a nice brisket across the way here.

I let the girl scratch my parts and she brings it over.

Oh The things I have to do to survive!

I know this is before your time. but enjoy real talent.

I found my dog Lucky in Brooklyn in April of 2001, My beau of the time Simon had two labs Jack and George and was out walking them, A neighbob asked if he would look under a car as a bag had been tossed there by a passing Mercedes with tinted windows. On Brevoort Street in Bed-Stuy this could have been a gun or drugs, it was a 3 week old Lucky! 5 minutes later I began to fall in love with him and a few days later it was set. I have a few surviving pics of him as a pup and will post them when I get the chance.
